"Menschen, die durch Wasser rennen. Uebermuetig in Fluesse und Seen springen, sich darin treiben lassen, sich kuessen. Junge, schlanke Menschen, die sich nackt in der Natur austoben, manchmal auch nur so herumliegen. Menschen, die Spass haben und anscheinend voellig sorglos ihr Leben geniessen, ohne dafuer technische Geraetschaften zu benoetigen. Die Fotografien von Ryan McGinley, die all dies zeigen, koennen einem regelrecht schlechte Laune bereiten. War man selbst jemals so frei? War man nicht vielmehr schamhaft, gehemmt und vergleichsweise spiessig?"
